The elevator in Helen’s office just like the building is enclosed and once you are in one cannot tell if the elevator is moving or is standing still. This resembling Helen’s blindness and how she moved through life without realizing the how the outside world changes as you move through it. In the other hand Miranda’s elevator is widely open and eye catching and one can observe and be observed by the outside environment. Just like Miranda’s everyday life.
